Reuse or Recycle? A couple of things we recycle that we should reuse!
Did you know that there are some items that are better reused vs recycling them. Austin Solid Waste services suggests that if you do use plastic bags when you shop that you return them to your local super market where they can be reused to make new products taking them out of the recycle program. Also all those hangers you get from your local dry cleaner - take them back! They can reuse them. Of course there are lots of outlets to reuse old clothing such as resale shops or donations to local thrift shops. Old hoses have lots of great uses like poke a few more holes in it and make your own soaker hose. Do you carry lots of buckets around like I do when I feed my horses? To make it more comfortable you can slip a portion of the old hose over the handle to make it more comfortable to carry. For those of you that are interested in a bit bigger project like a small decorative retaining wall did you know you can used your aluminum soda and beer cans as the primary building block for one.
