Kayaking on Lake Bastrop
My husband and I took our kayaks out on Lake Bastrop just east of town. We loaded in at the South Shore. There is a minimal day fee but it is well worth it. There is a boat ramp, small dock, kayak and canoe rentals, a small swim beach, grills, and play areas, and they also have RV spots and small cabins to rent. We kayaked for about an hour and went to the small dam. There were a number of fishermen out that morning and it seemed that the fish may have been breeding or in feeding boils as we saw lots of activity. ( As you can tell I am not a fisher-person ...)
