I am blessed to live in Fayetteville TX, a small city – yes I said city – of approximately 258 voting residents. Fayetteville is filled with some amazing vintage and historic homes and we own one of them! Yesterday when I was driving to the post office ( three blocks away! ) I stopped and took some quick photos of some of the beautiful front porches of Fayetteville. People love to spend time on their porches and they love to decorate them for holidays too. We are in between 4th of July and Labor Day so there is still a bit of a patriotic theme about town, but you will always find flags flying no matter what time of year. Fayettevillians proudly fly the American and Texas flags.
Fayetteville is a popular spot for people looking to retire, there is a strong second home market, and there are investment opportunities. Being a Fayettevillian and a Realtor I would love to help both Buyers and Sellers meet their Real Estate Goals. Please contact me if you would like more information on my services.
Looking for a great opportunity? Here is a great little rural property on approximately 7 acres with a darling turn of the century farmhouse. The home needs TLC but its bones are good, I would think that Chip and Joanna Gaines would consider it a true “fixer upper” with all of its period charm and lots of shiplap. In its history it has been a family home, a Bed and Breakfast, and a rental. The current floor plan on the main floor has a bedroom ( with closests which is rare for a home of this age, a sitting run, a big bathroom, two living areas and a kitchen. The second story is a one-room apartment with half bath and a fun sitz tub with private access off the back porch. Ever want an outdoor shower? Well, this home has one! The front porch is lovely but with all the back porch if it were me, I would expand the kitchen and the front room out that way. Plenty of porch in the back with beautiful country views. At one time there was a working dairy on the property and the dairy still stands but is not operational. There is also a large outbuilding with concrete floor. There is plenty of room for gardens and small animal husbandry. The back pasture lends itself to a few cows or horses and the seasonal creek could possibly be reworked to support a pond. There is a new survey in the works. It is on a private well and septic system. This property is being offered for $195,000.00 and is being sold in AS IS CONDITION. I have become familiar with a very nice home and horse set up that is for sale in the Fayetteville area. It is home of The Professional Look aka ” Bruno” World Champion and 2X Reserve World Champion. Isn’t he stunning!
This property sits on just under 8 acres. It is about 12 miles from La Grange, a few miles outside of Fayetteville, and at the end of a private cul de sac. The home built in 2012 is energy efficient with lots and lots of features and upgrades. There are three bedrooms, two baths, lovely open floor plan for the living areas, big modern kitchen that will appeal to any cook.
So much for the home! Lets get to the barn! It is engineered and a block build. Cool in summer/warm in winter. Center aisle. Set up for four stalls. Tack and feed storage. And a true wash bay with wash rack mid barn. Bring your show horses or horses that you love dearly to this barn!
I am not the Listing Agent on this property , but I am a Buyer’s Agent, Career Realtor, and a Horse Property Specialist. Please consider calling me to see this property or others!

The rain started on Friday the 24th. Here is the Weather Bug map that I pulled up. Fayetteville was right in the thick of things! We got a total of 10 plus inches from Friday to this morning…which by the way is a beautiful sunny day. Large rains like this are not uncommon and with the El Nino weather pattern we may see more this fall and winter which is fine with me as I want us to crawl out of our drought status!
The ponds were overflowing on Saturday as you can see in these pictures I took driving Sunday from Fayetteville on FM 159 to a showing I had at one of my ranch listings in Red Rock Texas! It was a wet weekend for sure. Loved every second of it. But glad to see the sun today. And all of these pastures went to brilliant green in those three days! Gotta love Texas!
Did you know that originally Fayetteville was called Lickskillet? Truth! This weekend Fayetteville is celebrating it’s 39th Annual Lickskillet Days. This is a big deal in this quaint little City. Good food, shopping, history, entertainment it’s all here around the historic square. There is even a parade tomorrow! After the parade on the Square Mayor Ronnie Pflughaupt will honor Jerry and Shirley Chovanec by proclaiming “Jerry and Shirley Chovanec Heritage Day.” Located just a few miles off of Hwy 71 between Columbus and La Grange. Centrally located in between Austin, Houston, and San Antonio. Come on out and help us celebrate!
