Bastrop County is located southeast of Austin and the County seat is the town of Bastrop. Bastrop County is vibrant and growing. The Colorado River winds its way thru Bastrop County on the way south to the Gulf and the towns of Bastrop and Smithville are right on the river.

Things To Do In Bastrop County
There is plenty of fishing in area lakes and the Colorado River in Bastrop County, not to mention the larger acreages that have private lakes, and stocked tanks! There are two large parks for hiking and for the golfers there are four golf courses. Recently the Hyatt Regency developed a beautiful destination resort property. There is a dinosaur park and a small zoo among other attractions.
