So what can I find under 300k with a barn?

This morning I did an area wide search ( Austin Listing Service ) for any type of home ( site built, mfg. or single wide mobile ) with some kind of true horse barn, under 300k.   Ten properties came up where the Agents had checked horse facilities but only two of them had pictures of horse barns, see below.  I work as a Buyer Representative or Sellers Representative in the area that falls in between Austin, Houston, and San Antonio, and although I specialize in Horse Properties, I have extensive experience with Residential, Rural Residential, Lots, Alternative Builds, Vintage and Historic, and Farm/Ranch properties.  I have helped many Buyers or Sellers reach their real estate goals.  If you are looking for a dedicated Career Realtor to help you meet your goals,  please give me a call.  512-743-0516 Deb[optima_express_toppicks id=”518506″ header=”true” includeMap=”true”]


The market is limited for reasonable horse properties

Recently I featured a home for sale in The Colony in Bastrop County Texas on Open House ATX. This professionally done presentation aired for four weeks on KBVO on Sundays in the greater Austin area. Alum Creek is beautiful this spring!

The other morning I helped a friend who lives on Old Antioch and to get there I crossed over Alum Creek. It was peaceful and breathtaking. So many parts of Bastrop County are so beautiful! Texas History lends itself to Vintage and Historic Properties

This area of Central Texas settled in the mid 1800′s and small towns like Bastrop and others sprang up in the area surrounding the Capitol City of Austin. During that time and in the years following many large homes were built for the pioneers, founding fathers, government officials and big business men and their families. Many of these vintage and historic homes are still standing.

There is a certain appeal to living in a renovated vintage or historic home and nowadays most all of the larger remodeled homes and grounds combined are considered luxury properties. Of course renovations have blended that great “old world” with the original architectural components such as hardwood and Austin stone floors, tall ceilings with bead board walls wainscoting and chair rails , with the ever popular granite and stainless steel. Large estate kitchens have been redone to incorporate modern day features and appliances and combined with stately dining rooms are perfect for entertaining. Many of these old luxury properties have professionally landscaped theme gardens around large patio areas and pools. There are detached guest homes and carriage homes.

These gracious vintage and historic homes in Austin, Bastrop, and other towns, that have weathered the storms of time are now being utilized single family luxury homes, office buildings, bed and breakfast properties, and if you travel a bit outside of the city limits of Austin into the countryside of the surrounding counties such as Bastrop you will find homesteads and gentleman’s farms that still have barns for horses and small farm animals, smokehouses, root cellars, well and carriage houses and pastures. And even further out there are some exceptional luxury farm and ranch properties with large acreage.
